Head of Content, SEO & AI Search

Job Description

Animalz is hiring a Head of Content, SEO & AI Search to serve as their senior SEO expert and strategic leader, helping clients adapt their content strategies for organic visibility in both traditional and emerging search environments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead SEO and content strategy for 4-5 client accounts directly while providing strategic support for additional accounts managed by the team
- Develop and evolve SEO strategies tailored to both traditional search and AI-powered discovery tools including Perplexity, ChatGPT, and Gemini
- Conduct full-funnel SEO and AEO strategy planning for assigned accounts
- Manage 1+ direct report while collaborating with an extended team of content marketers and freelancers
- Serve as the SEO and AI search knowledge hub for the entire organisation
- Maintain monthly revenue retention with key accounts

Requirements:
- Strong foundation in leading enterprise SEO programmes
- Ahead of the curve in adapting to AEO and AI search innovation
- Deep knowledge of SEO fundamentals, technical audits, and content optimisation
- Demonstrated success adapting strategy for AI search environments
- Experience producing and reviewing high-quality long-form content
- Familiarity with tools including Ahrefs, Semrush, Google Search Console, and Screaming Frog

Salary: $85,000–$110,000 USD plus possible incentive-based compensation. Benefits include health and vision insurance (or wellness stipend for non-US team members), unlimited PTO, and flexible working schedule. Animalz is a 100% remote company.
